WABASHA COUNTY REPUBLICANS MEET CANDIDATES

From where I sit, Dr. Brian Davis appears to be a head above of the rest.

On Saturday, October 27th, Wabasha County Republicans gathered at the Millville American Legion and were given an opportunity to meet the candidates seeking the GOP endorsement for the 1st Congressional District. Dr. Brian Davis, Rep. Randy Demmer, Sen. Dick Day, and Mark Meyer are all looking to gain the backing of the Republican delegates in early 2008. The endorsed candidate will then challenge Rep. Tim Walz (D) on the November ballot.
The congressional candidates participated in a forum, where they were questioned about illegal immigration, taxes, the war on terror, and healthcare. The event also provided a great occasion for voters to meet with each candidate on an individual basis.

Dorothy Fleming, Deputy Chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota was a special guest speaker. Ms. Fleming was passionate as she encouraged everyone to become involved in local precinct caucuses on February 5, 2008. Precinct caucuses are the first step in the grassroots political process. Delegates and alternates will represent their county BPOU (Basic Political Operating Unit) at the district convention for the endorsement of a congressional candidate who will appear on the November ballot. This is my humble beginning as a conservative blogger for the Minnesota 1st District. There will be much to learn and understand as I get my feet wet.
